Our first patient safely ate an entire peanut in the office this week!
Austin Family Allergy and Asthma is happy to report that we currently have four patients enrolled in active therapy.
– Patient #1 has advanced to ingesting a whole peanut
– Patient #2 is advancing to the peanut flour capsule phase next week.
In addition, 2 other children have successfully completed the initial 10 dose visit.
Interestingly, two children have been evaluated at our clinic for eligibility and OIT enrollment. After careful testing, both children passed an in office peanut food challenge and had actually outgrown their food allergy. They are now freely eating peanuts without fear.
